(1) COMMENT POSTED TO CBC NEWS STORY
I posted one: Investment in fighter jets is a revealing statement about the emotional, psychological and spiritual maturity of the purchaser.
The $16 billion dollar contract for F-35 fighter jets reminds me of when George Bush and Company started dropping bombs on Iraq, then on Afghanistan, and bombs from unmanned drones on Yemen, etc. All of which Canada has become part of through “Agreements” signed with the U.S. – – Lockheed Martin being the #1 driver behind the lucrative drive to destroy.
F-35 fighter jets are only good for waging war. Investment in Violence as the means to bring about change in the world, is the work of people who haven’t the ability to imagine and create effective alternatives to violence. Insecure people (bullies) resort to violence because they are immature. They don’t know how to dialogue. Nor do they know how to empower other people so that those people can stand up and speak for themselves, becoming part of the solution.
Unfortunately, if you are the manipulator who has risen to the top, you do not want Empowered People. They are a threat to your need for power and control.
So, Canadians, how creative and empowered are we? Do we really think that spending $16 BILLION on fighter jets will improve – – – ? what ?

“We need to clean up this whole process,” Ignatieff said outside his party’s weekly caucus meeting. The Conservative government last summer committed to buying 65 F-35 Lightning II fighters from U.S. defence giant Lockheed Martin at an estimated cost of $14 billion to $16 billion.
Opposition parties and defence critics have been calling ever since for Ottawa to get bids from other defence contractors, but the federal government argues there are no other fighters in the same class.– With files from The Canadian Press
